Clergy of the Melkite
 Greek Catholic Church in Egypt

The clergy of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church in Egypt operate six schools covering first grade to high school and many charitable organizations, involving its Melkite members, in social uplifting of the poor and the needy. 

The Melkite Church in Egypt is very active ecumenically, not only with the Christian communities of Egypt, but also by creating a spirit of understanding between Muslims and Christians. The Religious Brotherhood (Muslims and Christians working to create a spirit of understanding) generally meets in our church of St. Mary of peace, and several members of our community take part. 

Beside the schools, teaching is a major activity in the Melkite Church of Egypt. Classes of Religious Education take place in most of our parishes. Bulletins and informational printed matters, like the Bulletin of the Greek Catholic Community appearing thrice yearly in Alexandria and the Rabta of the Patriarchal College in Cairo, are always welcomed with their rich contents and information.

The Melkite Liturgy is well served by the six choirs in Cairo and the two in Alexandria. The Greek Catholic people of Egypt compete to excel in beautifying their services.

With the limited amount of Clergy, the reduced number of parishioners, and the tremendous amount of work, one can still find Congregations of Ladies at the Cairo Cathedral, the church of the Immaculate (Heliopolis), and the Cathedral of Alexandria; parish "Centre" in all parishes except Fleming, Tanta, Mansoura, Port said, and Khartoum; St. Vincent de Paul branches at Cairo Cathedral, St. Mary of Peace, St. Cyril, the church of the Immaculate (Heliopolis), and the Cathedral of Alexandria; Youth Clubs in all parishes of Cairo, at Alexandria Cathedral and of late, the parish of the Immaculate at Ibrahimieh, Alexandria.
