Apolysis
(Dismissal)
This is the concluding prayer said by the celebrant at the
end of the Liturgy Celebration.
Adding a special intercession to the unchanging part of the
Apolysis modifies it for each day of the week:
- On Wednesdays and Fridays
an intercession is added to the Holy and Life-giving Cross.
- On Mondays an intercession is
added to the heavenly, honorable, and bodiless powers of heaven.
- On Tuesdays an intercession is
added to the glorious prophet, the Forerunner, John the Baptist.
- On Thursdays an intercession is
added to our Father among the saints Nicholas.
- On Saturdays an intercession is
added to the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, and our God-bearing Fathers.
- Sundays are dedicated to the
Resurrection of Our Lord.
